Timothy "Tim” Bryant was elected as the VFWCA State Junior Vice Commander on 25 June 2021 in Sacramento, California. He is a retired Senior Master Sergeant of the United States Air Force who served from June 1981-July 2001. His assignments were George AFB, CA, Clark Air Base, Republic of the Philippines, Aviano Air Base Italy, Lajes Field Azores, Portugal and RAF Lakenheath, England. He earned his eligibility for the Veterans of Foreign Wars as Chief, Air Traffic Operations, 16th Air Expeditionary Wing, NATO Stabilization Forces, Zagreb, Croatia 1998. There he led a combined unit of 12 USAF, British and Danish air traffic controllers responsible for all Air Traffic Operations and Close Air Support for coalition and U.S. Forces in Croatia, Yugoslavia and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Tim joined the VFW in 2005 at the Colonel Horace Hickam Post 970, Hickam AFB, Hawaii and maintains his Bronze Legacy Life membership at VFW Post 3000 Quartz Hill, California. Bryant was the recipient of Department of Defense "The Spirit of Hope Award 2016” named after Bob Hope. He was the Air Force nominee and winner for providing "unparalleled service and countless support to U.S. military veterans and the local community.” Bryant is the recipient of the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Department of Air Force Meritorious Civilian Service Award, Air Force Good Conduct Medal Silver OLC, Air Force Meritorious Service Medal 2 OLC, Air Force Commendation Medal 3 OLC, Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award 2 OLC and the NATO Medal.
Currently, Tim serves as the Chief, Current Operations Flight for the 412th Operations Support Squadron, 412th Operations Group, 412thTest Wing, Edwards Air Force Base, California. He has responsibilities for providing leadership, guidance, and mentoring to 36 personnel providing outstanding air traffic, airspace management, airspace scheduling and ensuring his team contributes to the mission to "Enable safe, effective, and efficient flight test operations and provide combat ready forces to Combatant Commanders”.
He has served in elected and appointed positions at the Post, District, and Department levels. On the National level he has served on the National Legislative Committee, National Veterans Service Resolution Committee Member and National Security and Foreign Affairs Committee Member.
Tim has two daughters Anais and Regis and a stepson Asante. He is married to Sherree Bryant and they reside in Lancaster, California.
