Reginal "Reggie” Russell is a former U.S. Army Paratrooper who started his military career in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1990. He participated in the theater of war that was Southwest Asia Desert Storm and the liberation of Iraq. His service in both war and peace time has led to numerous awards and commendations from Army Achievement Medals to his Bronze Service Star while in Desert Storm to civilian accolades within his community. His laudable efforts continued after his tour of duty, often coaching and mentoring youth from disadvantaged backgrounds; but one of his greatest joys has been being an advocate for veterans. He joined the Veterans of Foreign Wars as a way to assist veterans as they transition back into their civilian lives after returning from their expedition on foreign soil. He started in the VFW as a Guard for Post 1123 in Vallejo, CA and went on to hold numerous positions both at his Post and in District, up to the position of Commander. His leadership and commitment to the success of the Veterans of Foreign Wars is still being written but will undoubtedly be one filled with great service.
