District 9 Commander - Navy

Graduated from Kerman High School in 1964.

 Entered Fresno City College in fall of 1964 as Pre-Pharmacy Major.

Joined the Navy in February 1966 and attended Naval Tactical Data Systems School after Boot Camp.  Was ordered to report to the USS Enterprise CVAN-65 July of 1966 and was assigned to the OI Division as a Radarman and later to Air Strike Controller. Was Honorably Discharged in December 1968 from active duty with a decrease in manpower early-out.  I joined the Naval Reserve in Fresno and remained a reservist until September of 1972 at which time I resigned as I moved out of the area and could no longer attend meetings.

Entered Fresno State College in the spring of 1969 and changed my major to Agronomy.  I joined the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity in the fall of 69 and was active until my graduation. I graduated with a BS in Agronomy in June 1971 and was hired as a Field Rep for Cargill Inc.  Went back to school part time and received a MS in Soil Science. I then went to work for the J.G. Boswell Farming Company in Corcoran, CA as an Agronomist and later as District Manager. In August of 1981 I was elected to the California Ag Leadership Association for a two year educational assignment while still employed by the Boswell Co.  Due to an offered decrease in manpower lucrative retirement in 1986 due to a major flood in the Tulare Lake Basin, which I took. I joined Crop Production Services as Assistant Branch Manager/Technical Consultant in the Huron/Five Points Branches until my retirement in February 2018.

I joined the Kerman VFW Post 8470 in 1994 and have held various offices; I have been Post Commander for past 6 years.  I took over as District 9 Commander in November 2018 and was re-elected to that office for a third term in 2021.
