Larry D. Ramey Jr. - Born June 1st 1959 in Elwood, Indiana, went to High School In Noblesville, Indiana Letterman in Track and Field, Tennis, Wrestling, Swimming, Graduated in 1978. Joined the US Navy in 1978 Delayed entry program. Went to Bootcamp in Orlando Florida, Attended Aviation Electronics School NATTC Millington Tenn. Sent to my first duty station NAS North Island Squadron VS-37 a S-3A Viking Plane Captain,  Aircrewmen, In-Flight Troubleshooter & Loadmaster, Deployed on 2 West PAC Cruises to the Indian Ocean during the Iraininan Crisis on the USS Ranger CVA-61, USS Enterprise CVN-65, Shore Detachment to Diego Garcia, Indian Ocean for 6 mo aircraft special maintenance overhaul team, then Received Orders to attend UDT/SEAL Training (BUDS Classes 122 & 123) Medical discharge from BUDS -Training, New Orders to Point Mugu, Ca., Work Center 610 Com/Nav/Radio/Radar Shop "I Level" Maintenance was there from 1981-1984. Honorable Discharge in October 1984. I am single and live in Simi Valley, Ca. Have 2 Boys Larry D. Ramey III, Dylan Robert Ramey. Became a Life Member of the VFW in 1993 and was Post 2805 Commander that year. I have held every Office at the Post & District Level over the years except for Chaplin, JAG, Surgeon. All-State Quartermaster 2013-2014, 2017-2018 for Post 10049 and have been Honor Guard. I am now an Officer at Post 10049 Simi Valley as a 3 year trustee, OOD, and was elected 2021-2022 VFW California District 7 Commander currently.
