Alfred Alciati
District 12 Commander - Navy

Alfred Alciati, a California native, lives in Morgan Hill and served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam (1969-1972), where he worked as a Third Class Petty Officer on the USS Constellation CVA 64, as an Illustrator Draftsman for the Integrated Operational Intelligence Center.  The IOIC was responsible for mapping and reconnaissance of North Vietnam. Military awards and decorations included:  National Defense Service, Vietnam Service Metal, Presidential Unit Citation, and the Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation. 


Alciati served as the Commander of the VFW John A. Berri Post #6309 in Gilroy, and was appointed to the prominent position as Aide-de-Camp in the National VFW Level.  


A graduate of Live Oak High School, Alciati earned an Associate of Science degree in Drafting Technology from Gavilan College. 


Alciati is also the second cousin of John Berri, for whom the Gilroy Post 6309 is named after.  Alciati and his wife, Sharon (who is currently the District 12 Auxiliary Chaplain and Post 6309 Auxiliary Chaplain), married 57-yrs, have two sons, and 3 grandchildren.
