Charles W Golden was installed as the District Three Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, Department of California in June of 2026 in Sacramento, California. Charles was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan.

 

He served in the U. S. Navy for 23 years in uniform (1987-2010) retiring as a Chief Petty Officer (CPO). He has served as Information Technology and Telecommunications Network Operation Officer, Information Assurance Officer, Information Security Specialist (EKMS/KMI), Communications Officer, Security Officer, Communications Chief / Information Assurance Manager Telecommunications Training, System Security Accreditation Lead, and development of Navy personnel at various locations overseas and throughout the United States and Overseas.

 

Doctor of Philosophy in Entrepreneurship and Business, T.I.U.A, Master of Science in Information Technology Management, with a minor in Information Security Assurance and Digital Forensics. At Trident University International (Magna Cum Laude), Certified Information Security Officer, Advanced Information Assurance and Security for Government and Non-Government Programs. Associate in Technical Arts, with a minor in Multimedia and Interactive Technology Skagit Valley College. Naval Navy SP2 Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) (W-3B-1500), Security Manager (S-3C-0001) Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS).

 

During his Naval service, Charles deployed in operations throughout the Persian Gulf and Southwest Asia.

 

He is currently employed as a civilian Security Specialist for the last 15 years at Naval Surface Warfare Center Corona division Norco, California totaling 38 years of experience in the defense industry.

 

During his 20 years as a VFW member John was elected as the Senior Vice Commander for Port Hueneme VFW Post 3935, Post Commander of Wildomar/ Lake Elsinore VFW Post 1508 where he achieved the status of All-American.

 

Charles has two children, a son Charles W. Golden IV (27 y/o) and a daughter Blayne A Golden (25 y/o). Charles is married to Wajee M. Golden.
