Matt Gillen serves as District 17 Commander, which includes Nevada, Placer, El Dorado, and most of Sacramento County. Overall, District 17 has 21 posts, including the North Highland post, which has the highest membership count in the state. Other posts with strong membership counts include Folsom, Ione, Rancho Cordova, and Sacramento.

 

As District Commander, Matt presides over district meetings, promotes schools of instruction, and enforces strict observance of the bylaws, manual of procedure, and rituals of the organization, among other duties.
