Maryann Enciso
District 9 Commander - Air Force

Maryann Enciso was elected District 9 Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Department of California. She is a retired Area Director for the Western United States with the Internal Revenue Service. She spent 32 years at the IRS in senior leadership positions while serving n the military reserve. . Maryann served 31 in the military, including 21 years in the California Air National Guard and 10 years on active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps. She retired as a Chief Master Sergeant (E-9) and served as the Senior Human Resource Advisor, overseeing diversity, force management, and development initiatives. She earned her VFW eligibility while serving in the Republic of Korea. She deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Her military awards include the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal and the Air Force Achievement Medal. She was also a member of the All-Marine Track and Field Team and a participant in the 2002 Winter Olympic Torch Relay. Maryann is a graduate of George Washington University’s Executive Leadership Program. She and her husband, Tony, have three children and two grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, home improvement projects, and spending time with her family.
