Randy is serving his second year as the Commander of District 5. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1983 where he served as a Chief Aviation Electronics Technician (ATC/E-7), Enlisted Air Warfare Specialist qualified. He specialized in aircraft and avionics maintenance, operations and quality control. He was also an instructor for avionics and weapon systems. His assignments include Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Light (HSL) 41, HSL-43, HSL-37, Naval Air Technical Training Command, Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Department Lemoore, Strike Fighter Squadron 22 (VFA-22), and Strike Fighter Weapons School, Pacific. He deployed on: USS Vincennes (CG-49) as a Plank owner, USS Crommelin (FFG-37), USS Chosin (CG-65), USS Fletcher (DD-992) and USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70).
Randy retired from the US Navy after 20 years of active duty in July 2003 and is currently working for the Department of War at the Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division China Lake as a Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist.
Randy earned his eligibility in the VFW during Operation Southern Watch while assigned to VFA-22 out of Naval Air Station Lemoore CA, with Carrier Airwing 11 onboard CVN-70.
Randy has been married to his wife Kelly for 39 years, and has two children, and is a proud grandfather. He is a Gold Legacy Life Member of Ridgecrest VFW Ship 4084, Life Member of the VFW National Home, member of the Military Order of the Cooties, The American Legion and Masonic Lodge.
