Description
Received a telephone call from a veteran wishing to file a disability claim. The first thing I asked was if he filed a claim with a service officer. He has not. He tried to get help from a service officer at Lancaster but his telephone call was not responded. He got my name from somebody and called. He filed an intent to file form in August 2023. I explained why this was so important for him. He has some of his military medical records that can be submitted with his claimed. He was asked to put the paperwork for each disability together and to place his SSN on the top right hand of each page. He will make a PDF of each page to be sent to VA with his claim. We will have further discussions as he wishes. I explained what a fully developed claim is. Once everything is completed he will make an appointment with our Service Officer for review and submission of his claim. He understands that a power of attorney will need to be completed.
