| On Friday September 11 2026 VFW Alessandro Post 8547 held a Patriot Day ceremony to honor the memory of those lost in the September 11 2001 terrorist attacks and to pay tribute to the first responders service members and civilians affected by that day. The observance reflected the Post's continuing commitment to remembrance and to honoring sacrifice in service of the nation. The ceremony began at 2:00 PM with a flag ceremony conducted by Post members followed by a gun salute in honor of those who died on September 11 2001 and those who have served in the years since. Brief remarks were delivered reflecting on the significance of the day and its continued meaning for the veteran community. Approximately 20 members and guests attended the observance at the Post. The ceremony was carried out successfully and in keeping with the solemnity of the occasion.
