Description
Conducting weekly Zoom meetings with the California Legislative Team to coordinate assignments responsibilities congressional outreach and trip preparation. * Training and onboarding new legislative team members including providing guidance on congressional engagement VFW legislative priorities meeting preparation and follow-up. * Assigning California congressional offices among team members and adjusting assignments as the team has expanded. * Working individually with team members to ensure congressional offices are contacted and appointments are requested and scheduled. * Personally contacting congressional offices and working with schedulers to secure meetings for the California delegation. * Preparing team members to effectively communicate VFW legislative priorities and represent California veterans before members of Congress and congressional staff. * Reviewing legislative priorities and discussing how to present VFW positions during congressional meetings. * Coordinating travel and logistical preparation for the September Washington D.C. visit. * Conducting follow-up with team members to track congressional appointments outstanding requests and areas requiring additional assistance. * Developing communications meeting materials congressional outreach language and organizational tools to keep the team informed and prepared. * Maintaining regular communication with team members between formal meetings to answer questions resolve issues and keep preparations moving forward.
