I sat in on the Rapid Response Team zoom meeting. Appropriations does not weigh whether a bill is right. It weighs what it costs. Every dollar these bills save a disabled veteran or a military retiree shows up on the state's books as revenue it does not collect. Bills that carry a cost get held on the suspense file. That is where the real decision gets made and it is made fast. The only thing that changes that math is hearing from the veterans it affects. That is us. That is now.
