Description
The Commander and myself met with Congressman Olbernolte as part of his Veterans Advisory Council for the California High Desert. We discussed numerous House Bills currently being worked on within Congress including the Richard Star Act the VFW’s stance on HR 9237. We also discussed the need for his endorsement on HR 4837 HR 6858 and HR 1965 just to name a few that fall inline with National’s interests. One thing that turned out disappointing was his support for HR9237. In his belief even a ‘watered down’ version of the Richard Star Act along with the other more beneficial items in the bill were better than nothing at all. He mentioned that he is a very strong proponent of the Richard Star Act but it is either get something now that is partial and work in getting the remaining in another bill or get nothing at all.
