Description
The VFW Post 10978 parade vehicle attended the races at the Santa Maria Speedway. Public entry into the Commando with many photos of kids taken by the parents. Flags were distributed and Buddy Poppies were available and also distributed as VFW discussions were held. The V-150 took to the track carrying Post Commander David H. Forrest Chaplain Hernan E. Rodriquez and member of the Post Jeffrey Mallett. QM Mark A. Machala attended as ground support and assisted the hoisting of the 30x50 foot flag along with all of the drivers for that night. Santa Maria Speedway raised and donated funds for the Post at this event. It was short notice. We hope to have more notice for the next opportunity to provide this service and will share the date with VFWCA as it becomes firm. Attendance from VFW leadership would be great!
