I was born in Chehalis Washington, the 3rd son in the family. My parents owned "The Office Tavern" in Chehalis and our home was in Centralia. I met my older sister for the first time when I was 57yrs old.
As a kid, I knew two things for sure, I would someday marry the little girl up the street, and I would earn my own military uniform. I earned the uniform, and the little girl up the street said "You are not going to the Philippines without me. We were married 9 April 1983.The rest just happened.
My most prized attachment to my military uniform is my "Combat Crew" badge. Just knowing I was a part of the small group of USAF aviators that wore that badge, made me acutely aware of the bar I had to reach to earn it, "Do it right, or get out of the way."
