Lamont Duncan was elected as the State Judge Advocate of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Department of California on June 25, 2021, in Sacramento, California.
He served in the United States Marine Corp as a Meteorologist from 1966-1972 where he achieved the rank of SSGT. In November of 1968 he was deployed to Chu Lai Vietnam where he earned his eligibility to the VFW. He received the Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Unit Citation, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnamese Military Merit Medal, Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation, Vietnam Civil Actions Unit Citation Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal along with other citations and medals.
Lamont joined the VFW in 2001 at VFW Post 2122 in Inglewood, California where he is also a Gold Legacy Life Member. He is an All-American Past Department Commander and currently serves in elected and appointed positions at the Post, District, Department and Conference levels as Co-Chair of the Western Conference By-Laws Committee. He is also a Life Member of the Military Order of the Cooties and Grand Commander, VFW National Home for Children, and other National Service Organizations.
Lamont retired in 2003 as CFO of Executive Office Concepts, a furniture manufacturing company, and is enjoying different hobbies when able.
Lamont has two daughters, three sons, thirteen grandchildren and one great granddaughter. He and his wife Annie reside in Los Angeles, CA.
